Though Fia’s Wrangler line of saddle blanket seat covers may look like cozy blankets for your vehicle’s seats, they require installation like any other seat cover. Luckily, once they’re on your seats, you’ll only need to take them off to clean them. Once you know how to install saddle blanket seat covers, you’ll want to install them in all of your vehicles!
Installing the Backrest and Bucket Covers
Bucket Seat Cover
Start installing the bucket seat cover by stretching the trim from the front of the seat to the back. Make a note of the location of the interior tag inside the cover—it should be on the centermost side of the seat. Smooth the cover by running your hands over it from the front to the back of the cushion. Before moving to the straps, make sure to center the cover on your seat.
Lead the straps on the back of the seat cover through the opening between the backrest and cushion. You’ll find buckles on the front of the seat protector. Using a flashlight for your safety, bring the back straps through to the buckles, feed the straps into the buckles, and tighten them. Do the same with the straps on the sides of the seat cover.
If you struggle with fitting your hands under the seat, cut slits into a small piece of cardboard and feed the straps into it, sliding it underneath the seat.
Backrest Seat Cover
If you ordered a custom seat cover, remove the headrests from the top of the seat—but if you’re using a universal Wrangler seat cover, keep the headrests on, as the cover will stretch right over the top.
Stretch the backrest cover over the top of the seat and cover the original fabric, lining the two holes at the top with your headrest holders. If you have slits for seatbelts, tuck the seat cover under the seatbelt and zip it up to allow it to pass through without issues. Tuck the front flap under the back of the seat and weave the straps at the bottom through the seat as you did for the bucket cover. Secure the cover by tightening it.
Custom Seat Cover Additions
All custom Fia Wrangler seat covers come with headrest and center console covers when applicable. Put your headrest seat covers on while you have them detached from the seat. Make sure that the two holes for the prongs are on the bottom and connect the Velcro connectors.
Center consoles come in many shapes and sizes, so ensure you read the instructions. Install the center console cover by placing it over the console in the upright position. Stick the Velcro attachments inside the console and secure the cover to them.
With the knowledge of how to install seat covers in mind, you’ll be prepared to tackle the installation of your saddle blanket car seat cover. If you’re more of a visual learner, Fia has you covered with our installation video page.
